Here at Butterfield Pre School our staff have been selected to provide a high standard of care and education for your child. All staff are subject to Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks before they start employment, have regular performance reviews and have a firm commitment to on-going training.

The setting adheres to/exceeds the Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements whereby at least one member of staff holds a level 3 qualification and half of all other staff a level 2 qualification and they will always be at least 2 members of staff on duty at any one time.

Our minimum ratio of staff to children is as follows:

- 1 Adult to 8 children (3 year olds)
- 1 Adult to 4 children (2 year olds)

Please see the Parents notice boards in the cloakroom for details and pictures of the staff at the setting.

Staff ensure they know all the children in their care and each child will be assigned a ‘key person’ with whom both child and parent/carer can build a special relationship. Each ‘key person’ will be responsible for the planning of activities and assessing the development of each child with in their care.

Who are we?

This is a small introduction to the staff at the setting to help you and your child/ren become familiar with who we all are and our background.

Personal Profile

Hi I’m Nic Fish and I’m the manager and owner here at Butterfield Pre School. I have worked in various nursery settings throughout my time in childcare and worked my way up to my current role. I have undertaken lots of different training and have over 15 years experience and this is all reflected in the practices in the group.  I joined the group in 2007 as manager and took over the ownership in March 2015,  it has been a fabulous time and the group has come such a long way in such a short time. This is due to our extremely committed staff and parents of the group. I am always here to help in any way I can and hope we can provide the care and education you require for your child/ren.

Personal Profile

Hi, I’m Lee I am trained in hospitality and catering and hold a level 2 food hygiene certificate. I have 3 children of my own and working in the food industry I know how important a healthy lifestyle is for children. There is no better way to start then at a young age. Healthy eating helps children to develop, learn and grow. It tackles childhood obesity and is top priority for many parents. Getting children enjoying healthy food from an early age is a way to help them eat well for the rest of their lives. I am committed to offer children healthy, nutritious, balanced meals and snacks which meet individual needs and requirements. I also provide cooking sessions with the children which is a real highlight of my job.
